This painting was begun and nearly finished during the Santa Barbara painting workshop.The Santa Barbara harbor is beautiful in the early morning. I love painting it from the harbor vista point.. The view is exquisite. I tried to imagine what the Santa Barbara harbor was like in 1910. So I left out a few (hundred) boats and made little row boats instead of the modern cacophony of boats and fifty story cruise ships often seen from this viewpoint.
