One of the most beautiful villages I have seen is the magnificent La Roque on the Dordogne River. Surrounded by cliffs, it was fortified in medieval times. The village streets are full of mediterranean vegetation. The adobe homes were drenched in golden light during my luminous sunset on that June day.
