This Valley Ford farm scene was painted in the spring on Highway 1 in Sonoma County, California. It was a humid afternoon, and my paints worked a little wetter than usual, giving a more fluid appearance to the hills. In the foreground there were wildflowers of every possible color including lupine, poppies and buttercups.
