I began this Fauve painting plein air in Menton, in the south of France. Later I finished the painting in my studio from photos and sketches. One of the nice things about painting acrylic when traveling is that the canvas dries so fast. Within hours of painting I can roll the canvas and stash it in my stuitcase for the trip home. I could live Menton. I hear the sun shines every day for 8 months of the year and I do believe that since I have visited so many times and always the sun is shining. I like the setting of the beach with the village and hills as a backdrop.
