SOUTHWEST ART, BEST OF THE WEST

In Living Color: California has a side array of painting groups-the Outsiders, Oak Group, and Baywood artists, to name a few. Add another one to the list. This month William Lester Gallery features paintings by En Couleur, a new cadre of artists on the Golden State scene. The group includes Robin Fahey Cameron, Lindy Duncan, Kathleen Elsey, Connie Kirk, Jeanette Le Grue, and Camille Przewodek. The painters are linked, in part, by their use of unexpected colors and a strong focus on light in their landscapes and still-life works. They are inspired by the Impressionists and other proponents of the free use of color and form to express beauty in the natural world.
